About Broadband Guides
Broadband Guides is a small, independent site that explains UK broadband in plain English.
The guides are written by people with years of hands-on experience in UK telecoms customer support and IT operations. That means we have seen the questions people actually ask, and the places where things usually go wrong: switching, price rises, faults, and Wi-Fi that never quite reaches the back bedroom.
What we promise
- Independent. We are not a broadband provider, and no provider pays us to rank it higher.
- Sourced. Rules and figures link back to Ofcom, Openreach and other primary sources, so you can check them.
- Kept up to date. Every guide shows when it was last checked. When the rules change, we update it.
- Honest about money. Some links earn us a commission. We say so clearly. Here is how it works.
What we do not do
We do not give individual financial or legal advice. If you are in a dispute with your provider, the Ofcom guide to complaints and alternative dispute resolution explains your options.
